Brian Crower cams for the 2003-2005 Evo 8 (non-MIVEC) and the 2006 Evo 9 (MIVEC) are manufactured to exacting precision. Brian Crower high performance Evo camshafts are ground on state-of-the-art CNC cam grinders to ensure accuracy and tolerances to within .02mm. Every Brian Crower Evo 8 and 9 camshaft profile has been prototyped and dyno tested for proven horsepower results prior to being produced. By grinding cores in high volume, Brian Crower, Inc. is able to pass the cost savings on to the end user. Brian Crower produces first-rate cams at affordable prices.
All Brian Crower Evo 8 and 9 cams are checked on a high speed, sub-micron accuracy measuring gauge. Brian Crower uses an Adcole Camshaft Measuring System with individual measuring heads for each cam journal and cam lobe. This instrument has .01 micron resolution, taking one datum point each 1/10th of a degree or 3,600 data points per revolution. Up to 200 Brian Crower cams per hour are checked for errors in rise and for any chattermarks.
Brian Crower 276 degree cams, aka 'Stage 2 & 3/4' are designed to fit right between the former Brian Crower 272 & 280 deg. cams. These cams are designed to be the 'perfect' cam setup for both the street and the track. Brian Crower 276 deg. cams have a medium-short duration for nice street manners, and a slight lope at idle. Excellent all purpose spec cams. These cams require upgraded springs and retainers.
